I pulled out my TM Century disc for this one, too. I'm not sure if TM just did a sloppy job, or if the actual 45 version has bad edits. On theirs, they made the first edit on the high hat hit right before the vocal, rather than right on the "ooooh."

But the worst one is the second one. After the first "have you heard..." they made the edit on the snare hit, which then cuts to the second guitar break. You can hear the tail end of the reverb from the second "have you heard..." where the edit is, but it sounds choppy on my disc, like they made the edit a split second too soon instead of right on the snare hit. Does your copy sound like that also?

To be honest I'm not sure (again, I'm working with a radio station aircheck version). The edit I wound up making sounds pretty smooth (may not be an exact match, but it's pretty darn close to what I heard on the aircheck). Again, I can't A/B it with anything because I'm not working with vinyl. If it'll help, I'll be happy to forward you a copy for comparison purposes (don't know if that's against board policy, but I might as well ask).

As to "The Night Owls," I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the tip, AaronK. :)

Doug

Per my TM Century disc, here are the edits:

1) The intro is cut in half with the edit points right before the drum/cymbol hit at 6 1/2 seconds, and that same "hit" right before the first vocals.
2) If you're listening to the LP version (no edits), the next edit would splice out 2:26 to 2:42 on the first count of that measure. If you've already made the first edit, then the next edit would be at 2:19.
3) After making the first two edits, remove all audio past 3:51. Make your bell-curve fade out from 3:33 to 3:51.

Again, I don't have the actual 45 to check, but I'm pretty sure this one is correct on my TM disc.
