I believe this surfaced on Discogs about a year ago. My Mariah Carey collection is quite extensive, but this particular disc seems to be extremely rare. In all my years of collecting, I've never encountered it, and even my friend, who is a dedicated Mariah collector, has never seen it either. She doesn't know anyone who owns it.

I do have the 7" Promo though, and even that took years to find!

That is probably one of the earliest promo CD-Rs I've seen. CD-Rs did exist as early as 1990, but blank discs were very expensive. I checked Discogs and there is a Promo CD from the UK on the Hit Factory label with the edit and it is listed as running 3:25. Possibly, but not necessarily (it's not listed on the TM Studios master spreadsheet). That piano makes for a natural cue point for stations that want to play a shorter version, so this would be pretty easy to do without an official edit. This actually reminds me that I've been meaning to start a thread about songs that are almost always cued past a certain point on the radio...

Although I have never found this shorter edit on CD, it does exist "officially" on the UK 7inch Promo

Thanks, at least I'm not the only one who remembers it that way! So I guess if that shorter edit was played in the UK, it must be floating around
somewhere on a TM Century or some similar kind of promo disc. The running time would be somewhere around 3 1/2 minutes, and none of the CD Single

I swear I heard a version of this song on the radio that opens with Piano (or keyboard, maybe?) but I've never seen it on any CD.
Basically, if you took the first 24 seconds off the intro of the single version, you would have what I remember hearing. I made an
MP3 of it years ago from the single version. Anyone else remember hearing it that way on the radio, or for anyone here who worked
in radio at the time, do you remember playing it that way? I suppose it could have been just an in-house edit.
