Author: mjb50
Subject: 2891
Posted: 11 February 2026 at 4:11am

At the time (1990), the LP in question was the Pretty Woman soundtrack. I can't say what's on the vinyl, but the soundtrack CD has the full intro. It fades out on "I get over you, I—" right at 4:00.

The Indian Summer (1992) album version is the same, but the fade goes all the way through "I get over you, I know I will", ending right at 4:02. This was on the 1992 "Faithful" CD single as well.

As already noted, the actual single version is apparently the album version, whereas the 3:55 version with the edited intro is on the promo CD single. Confusingly, both versions are designated "LP Mix".

Interestingly, the 12" single says it has the "LP Edit" (3:51), but it actually plays the same old album version with the full intro. Its fadeout ends after "I get over you", a bit past 3:58.

So it seems EMI knew they had an LP Mix and a shorter LP Edit, but they kept getting them mixed up on the actual releases. Maybe the tape boxes or labels were swapped.

In any case, the database should clarify that all the albums/compilations have the album version, not the "LP Mix" single version.

Edited by mjb50 - 11 February 2026 at 8:28pm

Meanwhile, the B-side consists of the "Power Mix" (which also appears on the promo CD single) and has an actual run time of 4:00.

Can anyone confirm hearing the "Power Mix" on the radio? (From time to time, I hear a remixed version of "King of Wishful Thinking" on the airwaves and it makes me wonder if perhaps this is the "Power Mix"?)
