If you edit the copy on Building The Perfect Beast or Actual Miles, they won't quite make it to the tail end of the promo 45's fade. I cranked up the volume, and I can faintly hear the first five notes of the keyboard solo that begins at 4:43 of the commercial 45. This is not heard at the end of the long CD versions.

I made a new edit today. My old file was done using a noisy dub as the template, and the last second was not audible over the surface noise. My old file runs 4:28, while the new one runs 4:29. It won't make any difference when it comes to listening enjoyment, but at least the question has been answered.

That explains why the LP version is shorter than the version on the single and
greatest hits comps. If you start with this LP version, you need to offset Aaron and Doug's edit points to 0:05, 4:13,
and 5:57, all on downbeats.

Pat: perhaps these appearances should be classified as LP vs. Single version?
