I believe the edit is made by cutting out from around 1:33 to 1:52, eliminating the guitar break, then at the end fading early to 2:57. But my source is an old Drake Chenault tape so that could have been a custom. Yes, it kind of has an "off tune" sound to it, but I always thought it was intended to be that way. Pardon me if this seems like a strange question, but I wasn't around when this song was originally out.

It seems to me whenever I hear "Jumpin' Jack Flash" on the radio it sounds very warped. Has it always sounded this way? I can only imagine someone years ago did a needle drop on a warped or off-center 45, put it on a CD, and that copy became used on other releases and so on. Pat, my promo 45 has a listed time of (2:42), just as you currently state in the database. But the actual run time of the song is (2:57).
