    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://top40musiconcd.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=89">crapfromthepast</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 3648<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 05&nbsp;January&nbsp;2014 at 3:20pm<br /><br />I have this song on something like 27 different discs.<br /><br />Avoid these; they have their left/right channels reversed:<ul><li><em>The Hits</em> (1988)</li><li>swaitek's promo 50-CD <em>The A List Disc 9</em> (1994)</li><li>Time-Life's 2-CD <em>Body Talk Vol. 1 Forever Yours</em> (1996)</li></ul>Avoid these; they are compressed or clip severely:<ul><li>Priority's <em>Eighties Greatest Rock Hits Vol. 1 Passion And Power</em> (1992)</li><li>Time-Life's <em>Sounds Of The Eighties Vol. 8 1981</em> (1995)</li><li>Simitar's <em>Number Ones Classic Rock</em> (1998)</li><li>Rhino's 7-CD <em>Like Omigod</em> (2002)</li><li>Time-Life's 2-CD <em>Classic Soft Rock Vol. 9 Cool Night</em> (2007)</li></ul>These all use the same analog transfer as <em>CBS Records Compact Disc Demonstration II</em> (1983?), and sound pretty good:<ul><li>Time-Life's 2-CD <em>Heart Rock</em> (1988; does not fade early; other tracks on these discs do fade early)</li><li>CBS' <em>Seems Like Yesterday Vol. 4</em> (1990)</li><li>Sony's <em>Keep On Loving You</em> (1993; this is a various-artist compilation, not an REO Speedwagon collection)</li><li>Sony's 3-CD <em>Feel The Love</em> (1994)</li></ul>These all sound good as well, and are all based on the same analog transfer (not sure where this analog transfer originated):<ul><li>Razor & Tie's 2-CD <em>Totally '80s</em> (1993)</li><li>Time-Life's 2-CD <em>Rock Dreams</em> (1993)</li><li>JCI's <em>18 Rock Classics</em> (1994)</li><li>Time-Life's <em>Guitar Rock Vol. 4 1980-1981</em> (1994)</li><li>JCI's <em>Only Love 1980-1984</em> (1995)</li><li>Simitar's <em>Love Rocks 5 After Midnight</em> (1998)</li><li>Realm's 3-CD <em>Greatest Hits Of The '80s Vol. 3</em> (2002)</li></ul>Finally, one more analog transfer for Sony's 2-CD <em>Read The Hits</em> (1994), and two digital clones of <em>Read</em>:<ul><li>Sony's <em>Living In The '80s</em> (1995; digitally identical)</li><li>Sony's <em>Hits Of 1981</em> (1999; 1.2 dB louder)</li></ul>If I had to pick one, I'd pick <strong><em>Totally '80s</em></strong>, but any  of the above three batches of discs sound just fine.<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by crapfromthepast</span>]]>

The Canadian 45 also lists a time of 3:22, but the vinyl LP lists 3:19.  I always wondered if they'd slowed it down or something...now we know!]]>
