I used to cue past the :04 intro at the radio station where I worked as well. My Promo Only - Mainstream Radio series has the :04 second intro, too. my commercial cd single issued in 1997 on virgin 38579 is the radio edit and runs 2:52 AND contains the footsteps and laughter.........

I suspect there is a 45 version of "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls. The cd version on the cd "Spice" has :04 of footsteps and laughter preceding the music that I doubt would have been included on a single.
