It was actually remixed quite a bit and edited.

Although this YouTube video is supposed to be a "live" performance aired on Solid Gold, we all know they lip synced to records. And in this case they used the 45-rpm disc as the version to lip-sync to.

Both the actual and printed commercial 45 run time of Kool & the Gang's "Cherish" is 3:58. (Timing info courtesy of abagon.) The only reason I post this is because database CD appearances of this song containing a "45 version" comment run 3:54-3:59.
