Yet another variation: There is a UK Radio Edit, which was released on a UK Promo 45 with the
full UK 45 version on the other side. The edited version has a listed time of 3:59 but runs about 4:16 with the one edit coming at about 3:40 and an early fade. It runs at the UK 45 speed and is
also known as the official music video version.

You will note that the music video posted ends at around 4:08 and the music cuts rather abruptly. I have, in the past, found a Youtuber spinning the actual UK promo 45 that contains this version,
and re-created the edit based on the actual fade, which is where I got my running time of 4:16. Unfortunately, I have not located that video in searching today, but I will update the post if I

I know this is not the main point being discussed here, but for clarity, the sped-up U.S. 45 is not an edit of the John Potoker "Dance Floor Smash" 12" version, as was suggested upstream in the thread. Pointing this
out because they are very different mixes, and because there does exist one promo 45 pressing
that plays a (roughly) 4:00 early fade of the Potoker remix, which was issued in Spain according to Discogs.

Here is a video on Youtube that plays this rogue mix. It isn't a terribly useful version IMO, as there's too long of an intro for a "single edit" and the fade
seems arbitrarily early, but for the completists: it exists if you must have an official short version of the remix!

I grabbed a dub of the US 45 from YouTube, played on a nice pitch-controlled turntable. It's a styrene pressing that sounds like mud, but it's good enough for evaluation.

I played with these in Audacity, and determined that if you pitch up the version on From Time To Time by 2.37%, it exactly matches the US 45. Same fade points, same length. I don't know what's on the UK 45.

The BPM Analyzer software showed the YouTube clip of the US 45 as running at 115.00 BPM and the From Time To Time version as running at 112.32 BPM, which gives a ratio of 2.39%. Pretty good agreement with my brute-force method from Audacity.

Pat's database specifically notes that all 4:45 versions on all compilations run slower than the U.S. 45, which runs 4:40. My BPM for the correct 45 by Ed is 114.54. The From Time To Time The Singles Collection is 112.29. I did a comparison between Ed's vinyl 45, and one of the 45 CD versions in the database, and Ed's 45 is faster. I'm not sure if I fully understand your statement. Did
you mean to say that the commercial 45 is a sped up
version of the listing that is labeled "45 version" in
the database (which runs 4:45)? The actual LP version
from the Secret of Association runs 5:05 and is different
from the version labeled "45 version" in the database
(different mix, intro).

Or, to put it another way, should the "45 version"
listings in the database indicate "45 version but runs
