Brian pointed me in the direction of a YouTube dub, which did not come up for me prior to posting my question. Does anyone know if the DJ 45 of "Feelin' Alright" by Diana Ross &
Jackson 5 is in mono or stereo? This CD set has the song in stereo,

Also on the stereo LP version of "We Can Work It Out" the 'response' vocals are 180 degrees out-of-phase rendering them silent when folded to mono or broadcasting in mono (or listening to FM in a fringe area).

On Stevie Wonder's "We Can Work It Out" there is tape echo on Stevie's vocal on the single mix. On the LP version, there is no tape echo. I have the DJ 45:

Stereo side listed (3:20), runs (3:18)
Mono side listed (3:15), runs (3:22)

The mono fade starts later, and lasts one second longer than the stereo side's fade. The other :03 difference is in the speeds. The mono side runs slower than the stereo side.

There is one notable mix difference, too. From 1:50 to 1:56 on the stereo side, Gladys sings, "No, I don't wanna... no, I didn't wanna do it." Here are answers to three of my questions--
Stevie Wonder "We Can Work It Out" there is a big difference in the mix between the 45 and LP but as far as I can tell there is no extra instrumentation.

Supremes "Nathan Jones" - the stereo dj 45 is the same as the LP version.

Rare Earth "I Just Want To Celebrate" is the true 45 version.

Still unresolved issues--
Diana Ross "Reach Out I'll Be There" - my red vinyl dj copy runs (3:17). Jim could you check to see if you have a black vinyl mono copy that runs (4:01)? I wonder why they didn't include the red vinyl version on this box set.

It's definitely a different mix than what's on the mono side...a bit of a rarity on promo singles. I'm not where I can compare the two right now, but there's a more pronounced phasing effect on the stereo side of the promo single that's not on the mono version. I believe there are handclaps that are also mixed higher on the stereo version.
I'm not familiar with the album version.

Thanks to Jim, I have just entered the information on the contents of the Complete Motown Singles Collection 1971A and as usual it brings up numerous questions about what is really included. Here are 5 questions that I wrote down when entering the data that perhaps someone can answer since I do not have this cd box:
1) Stevie Wonder "We Can Work It Out" - since the 45 running time is 2:53, which is :21 shorter than the stereo versions, is this a 45 version or 45 length?
2) Supremes "Nathan Jones" - is the stereo 45 dj 45 running 3:00 the LP version?
3) Gladys Knight & The Pips "I Don't Want To Do Wrong" - Jim lists the stereo dj 45 as running (3:29) but the database states that the stereo dj 45 runs (3:18) so what's up with this (a typo)?
4) Diana Ross "Reach Out I'll Be There" - Jim reports on disc 4 the mono dj 45 runs (4:01) on this cd but the database states that the dj 45's run either (3:17), (4:07) or (5:03)
5) Rare Earth "I Just Want to Celebrate" - Jim reports the mono 45 on this cd runs (2:51) but does it include the extra bongo beat found at 2:53 like other cd's? If that is the situation, then this is not the true 45 version on this cd.
