This is one of those songs that had many customized local versions with differnt city names inserted in the chorus. I grew up listening the the "Minneapolis!" version. A while back, I conducted an A/B comparison between the 45 and LP of Michael Stanley Band's "My Town" and I recall thinking the 45 sounded slightly different, but I couldn't tell if it was due to mix differences or EQ.
