On one of the NOW Music CD's Mandolin Rain clocks in at
3:30, but just an early fade. Still caught my eye when I

The label of that promo 45 has a listed running time of 4:15 and below that it says, "Intro: 28". If you combine both times, you'd get a total running
time of about 4:43, which is about how long the 45 version runs. Is it possible that the running time on it actually is the same as the commercial 45

There also appears to be another promo 7" (RCA ‎– 5087-7-
RAA) for Mandolin Rain with a track duration of 4:15. I
don't have this one so I'm not sure if it's mis-timed or
a different version/edit.

It doesn't exist. I've been searching for it, too. I'd been hoping that Hornsby's "Greatest Radio Hits" CD (his only compilation) would hold true to its title and include the version played on the radio, but it doesn't obviously, it's just the album version.
