Wow ... based on this discussion, I took the time to actually listen to the Video Mix [of EYHD] on Apple Music. I have known for a long time there was a dedicated video version but I have to say I was surprised by it. Not to editorialize too much, but I would consider this superior to the LP and single versions as well. Have always been a big fan of the 12" mixes of this song, but the Video Mix seems to be a unique mix, differing to even those. It's odd to me that someone in their circle clearly thought, hey, this song could really use a punch up for VH-1, but left it untouched for the general buying public.

For the record, there is some Daryl-speak in the '7" Avenue Remix' from the 12" single and promo CD single, but that version is clearly not an edit of the video mix. It's [shrug] just alright IMO.

I’ll say this about the VH-1 Behind The Music version of Daryl Hall & John Oates Greatest Hits. I remember when “Everything Your Heart Desires” came out. I was so excited to pick up the single (it was the first one I purchased by them, but I loved Daryl’s solo album and bought the first two singles). Anyways, I was surprised how the video differed with it being longer, the drums very prominent and echo backing vocals, along with Daryl talking in it and I believe this version (the Video Mix), is the only release I know of that contains it. I recently purchased a copy of the elusive 36 All-Time Greatest Hits collection and it's quite well done, although there's a lot of wasted space across the 3 discs: 2h:16m,33s that could have been condensed into just 2 discs.
I don't know if all the supposed single versions are actually present, but i compared Do What You Want, Be What You Are to a vinyl dub, and they're both identical.
I have some doubts about Wait For Me, which has a very quick fade-out around the 3:36-3:40 mark.
The audio quality is good, with average DR12 ratings.

Was looking at some of my VA compilation CD's and came across one called "Soul Sensation" which appears to be from England. It has a version of "Method Of
Modern Love" that runs about 3:05. It appears to be the same as the Remixed/Promo 45 version, just faded early. Don't think it was the UK Single Version, as
Discogs lists it at 3:58. There's also a version of Patti Labelle's "If You Asked Me To" running about 3:32 which also appears to be an early fade and not a
Single Version that was released anywhere.
