I once did a vinyl transfer of "Dancing In The Moonlight" from an original mint 45 and also an original mint LP. Both of them have sub-par sound quality. It must have been mixed down to a bad tape, because you can hear lots of dropouts from the very start. I would assume that the unmixed multi-track master must've been okay, because the "wrong version" uses the same take and but has much better sound quality.

Also, the mono 45 is just a fold down of the stereo LP.

I'm pretty sure, at least at one time they did, King Harvest has a MySpace page. I'm not on MySpace anymore, so can't verify.

There is another slight difference in the Dancing in the Moonlight alternate version The cymbals fade up earlier on the intro on the alternate.

It's probably the same take, with more reverb, and the section which appears to be missing some vocals near the end may be a part that was actually edited out of the 45 and album versions. I haven't tried to make an edit but it sounds like if you edit that "different" section out of the song you get the the right part of the ending. Of course, the song then fades out too early.

The mono version of "Dancing in the Moonlight" on CD has extra reverb on the voice, and one spot of lead vocals (on the word "Everybody" in the latter part of the song) is missing! 1. Saw the item in the CD Reviews section of Joe Cocker's "The Letter" finally available in its 45 version on CD on the Mad Dogs And Englishmen deluxe set. Is the 45 the version running (4:11) and billed as the "stereo single mix?"

2. Regarding the (2:49) mono version of "Dancing In The Moonlight," which is not the single version: how does the single version differ?

3. Any way to replicate the 45 version of Frijid Pink's "House Of The Rising Sun" (one 45 pressing shows it running (3:23), the LP version is (4:42))?
