I just picked up a copy of the O.S.T. Twin Town (which has the mono version of "Downtown")in like new condition for $.01 on Amazon(there are a few left for the same price). I will follow up when i receive it in a few days unless someone else beats me to it.

at the 2:03 mark in the song during the instrumental break when she sings "Downtown", she goes up an octave on all the appearances that I have on CD.   This did not occur on the original 45 version.   

So is this a stereo vs. mono issue since all but one (which I don't have) of the songs CD appearance are in Stereo? If so, would all of these versions be categorized as "Stereo LP version"...

Veteran Board super-sleuth Todd Ireland e-mailed me recently, inquiring about some original listed/actual 45 timings for database songs from 1965/66/67, and today I was able to address the list. The "Downtown" 45 was issued just as WB was transitioning from their red, "arrows" label to their mid-60's orange label, on which most commercial 45 copies appeared. Both are confirmed as WB 5494, and have listed times of (2:58). My red label copy has an actual time of (3:01), with handwritten deadwax of "GA14252-3". My orange label copy has an actual time of (3:02), with machine-stamped deadwax of "GA -14252-1H".
