Author: Brian W.
Subject: 597
Posted: 27 December 2005 at 4:43pm

I created my own edit of Me and Bobby McGree, Doug. There's only one edit, and it's at a really weird place in the instrumental break. I don't know at the moment where it is, but she sings:

"Hey, hey, hey, Bobby McGee, whoa, oh"

Then after the first eight beats of the instrumental break, with the piano, at about 3:28 there's three notes of an organ: doo-doo-doo. The first note is retained... the second two notes are taken from the second half of the instrumental break, where there's also three organ notes, coming in at about 3:47. It's a tricky edit... I worked on it for close to an hour before I was satisfied, but it sounds really seamless when you get it right.

If you want, give me your email address and I'll send you an MP3 of the edited section from the vinyl 45.

Edited by Brian W.
