The simplest/surefire way to buy the mono (except for Faded Love) 12 Greatest Hits is to pick up a copy of The Commemorative Collection. It's a 2CD set. The mostly mono 12 Greatest Hits makes up the bulk of the first disc.

I have still yet to encounter the mono "Showcase" CD.

The original "Walkin' After Midnight" was recorded for
Four Star, but leased to and issued on Decca. The track
was re-recorded for Decca proper in 1961 due to Stereo.
And in her newer style. Before Patsy Cline signed to
Decca
Records proper in 1961, she recorded for Four Star, and
was forced to record only their material. When she
signed
to Four Star in the 1950's, Decca leased those
recordings
and recorded them for Four Star and issued them on
Decca
before her contract ran out with Four Star.


To get the original MCAD 12 mostly mono Greatest Hits,
the BMG Music Service or Columbia House CD versions are
most likely to have this disc pre secret remasters.
Because MCAD 12 was secret remastered a year or two
later on, and more Stereo tracks replacing mono.

I believe he's seeking the old mono MCAD 12, not the Bob Ludwig remaster. But you're right, it appears that the record club version of the old CD contains what he's looking for. I didn't notice that before, but on the actual disc is a "CRC" designation. That version should contain the following:
- Original mono hit version of "Walkin' After Midnight"
- Stereo mix of "Faded Love"

You want MCAD 12 R with the LP cover art. It was mastered by Bob Ludwig and all Stereo. And a superb sounding CD. The older one is mono but this was pulled and some Stereo tracks are on that secret remaster. Crap, that's what I was afraid of, MM.

And wouldn't you know that I went ahead and ordered a factory sealed copy earlier today from an eBay seller who informs me his copy is a 1988 U.S. pressing in a standard jewel case, but of course there will be no way to tell what's on the inner CD ring until I tear off the plastic shrink wrap. Unless there's some way to differentiate the mono and stereo CD pressings from the outer packaging, I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope the disc contains the mono mixes I'm looking for.
