The edit first appeared on Geffen promo CD single PRO-CD-3389 (1988), where it's designated as "Edit".

The same analog transfer is used for:

• BMG UK's 2-CD Hits Album 9 (1988)
• the very rare Geffen Records A Musical History Of The Decade Vol. 3 (1990; digitally exactly 0.716 dB quieter)
• Virgin EMI PolyGram UK's 2-CD Now 1988 (1993; a little hissier than the other three, which isn't a bad thing)

I really like the 2-CD sets Now 1983, Now 1984, ..., Now 1993, all released in 1993. Sound is excellent on all of them, although many tracks are faded early by a second or two to cram 20 tracks on each disc. I highly recommend them, but only the 1993 releases. (Confusingly, there are subsequent releases with the same titles, all released in 1999.)

The 45 edit appears on the two disc import Now 1988: 10th Anniversary Series. There's one edit to be made to the 4:26 LP version that will give you the single edit.

Remove 3:05.8 to 3:47.5, editing on the downbeat during a chorus (Enya's multi-track) where she sings "we can sail, we can sail."
