The wide-ranging run times of current database CDs featuring this song are from (2:42) to (2:58).]]>

I asked a friend of mine who used to work at the oldies station that I was listening to, and he said they DO play the version off <em>#1s</em>.  So, that would also explain why it sounded different.  It probably ran a good seven or eight seconds longer (air time) than I'm used to hearing.  I was waiting for the fadeout, and it came much later than I expected.]]>

I cannot stand to listen to the stereo mix at all. However the mixes are quite different from each other. The most noticeable thing on the mono mix is that the bass drops out for four bars during the first verse of the song and comes back in. Combine that with a healthy dose of compression, those are the main differences between the two.]]>
