i have the edit version on the import cd single from the
late 90's issued as WEA WPCR-2066....i bought it at the the
hmv record store on fifth avenue in nyc....they had a whole
bunch of re-issues of his 45's as cd singles...it's really
bizarre as i haven't seen this import cd single ever for

Came across my notes for this song from a few years ago.

To edit the version from No Jacket Required down
to the 45:

Remove the first 8 beats of the song, from 0:00.0-0:04.2.
Keep the 212 beats from 0:04.2-1:51.2.
Edit on bass drum downbeat at 1:51.2; is right before
echoey tom-tom.
Remove the 32 beats from 1:51.2-2:07.4.
Keep the 218 beats from 2:07.4-3:57.5.
To find edit point, if the first "take" in the chorus
starts on beat #1, edit on beat #7 - it's on a handclap.
Remove the 80 beats from 3:57.5-4:37.9.
Keep 4:37.9-5:42 of LP version.
Add a 44-beat sinusoidal fade from to 5:19 to 5:42 of LP
version (4:14 to 4:37 after you've done the edits).

Unusual: Note that you'll need to raise the levels
before the second edit by 2 dB, or you'll have a jump in
volume levels.

The true 45 runs 4:37.
