I don't recall the instructions as it was a long time
ago but I can say the cuts in the guitar breaks are
tricky, you have to know if the cut is on a down-beat or
a snare...

I am stuck at the edits in the guitar solo section. I am
not sure what 22-23 seconds to cut in the guitar solo
section in order to bring it to 3:48. Can anyone help

I finally decided to tackle the edits to recreate the
45. There's a couple tricky guitar solo edits between
2:20 and 2:35 on the 45. I think I got as close as I

I'll re-time my edits, hopefully this weekend. The version I had faded the guitars at the beginning slightly in, so that certainly could have thrown everything else off.

Thanks, but would you mind taking another look at your
instructions? I tried the above edits using the version
from the "Rock The First" CD (where it runs just under
4:58), and the resulting file was about 3:58, not 3:48.
What's the running time of the Greatest Hits version? I
noticed that the opening guitar on the Rock the First
version lasts about :05, not :03 as you note above.
Maybe a typo in the instructions, or perhaps there are
some different versions appearing on some CDs
(unfortunately this is my only CD with this song, so I

Thanks to eriejwg's help, I was able to edit the album version down to the single version. These times may be a bit off but should get you close, and are based on the times as you edit rather than the entire file unedited:

so many AOR classics transcend top 40, 'specially in my
old stomping grounds.   AOR was on as much as top 40
everywhere we went, so this was a huge hit. And at
parties this get's turned WAY up.
I do remember the 45 is edited, because it has the cold
ending.
