I had an idea after getting Ed's response last night: a 99-track compilation CD, titled Every Breath You Take, comprised of nothing but the opening breaths from all the singles which had left them intact.

Imagine how many clearance hoops there would be to jump through. Then there's the matter of finding the best tape sources, having to decide to go with mono or stereo...

Still, the inital reactions from all those licensing people would be so worth it:

"You want to... what?"

:)

Great ringtones, though!
