As has been mentioned on this board before, Specialty kept its hit singles in print (using the original label number) until at least the late 1980s and perhaps even into the 1990s.

I have two different copies of Specialty 572. Both indicate the run time as 2:10 and both are wrong.

One 45 lists the title as simply "Slippin' And Slidin'", the artist as simply "Little Richard", the songwriters as "Penniman - Bocage - Collins - Smith" and states "From the Specialty LP Little Richard's Grooviest 17 Original Hits". This is obviously a later pressing, since by the time this song was a hit, Little Richard had not yet had most of his 17 grooviest hits. This 45 runs 2:43.

The other 45 looks much older, but I don't know if it's an original pressing. It lists the title as "Slippin' And Slidin' (Peepin' And Hidin')", the artist as "Little Richard And His Band", and the only songwriter credited is "R. Penniman". This 45 runs 2:26.

ed. Here's another one where the Hits Archive guy indicates the 45 runs 2:26
(as per his post). My version from Rhino's "18 Greatest Hits" runs faster and
2:43. Is your 45 an original?

although not in the db because of it's low billboard peak
chart position of number 33 in 1956, my commercial 45 for
the little richard song 'slippin' and slidin' issued as
the b-side of specialty 572 lists the run time on the
label as 2:10 but actually runs 2:43....this is for us
