It really is a great record. I'm not sure if my mono
promo single of it is a fold down or a dedicated mix. I
just know that it sounds good. Of course, the stereo mix
is very good, as well. I have the 45 edit from the

"You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" is some seriously smooth Philly soul.

The LP version runs about 4:27, plus or minus a second or two.

The oldest CD I have with the LP version is Priority's Mega-Hits Dance Classics Vol. 2 (1989). It's mastered a little loud and clips a bit, and may possibly have noise reduction. The EQ is a little brash-sounding. There's a differently-EQ'd digital clone on Time-Life's 2-CD Body Talk Vol. 1 Forever Yours (1996).

There's a different analog transfer on Razor & Tie's 2-CD Disco Fever (1991). Nice dynamic range, wimpy-sounding EQ, no noise reduction. I hear a little crackle on the fade - is this taken from vinyl? There's a differently-EQ'd digital clone on Razor & Tie's 2-CD Break Up To Make Up (1999), which is also mastered too loud and clips a bit.

And then, there's Cema's Lou Rawls disc Ten Best Series, which sounds just fine, even if it runs a tiny bit faster than all of the above. Ten Best is my choice for the LP version.

The 45 edit runs 3:31, according to the database.

The oldest CD I have with the 45 edit is Connoisseur Collection UK's 5-CD 100 Dance Hits Of The '70s (1988), which sounds better for this track than a lot of other tracks on this set. Few others in the U.S. own this box, though.

A far more common, and slightly better-sounding, version is on Rhino's Didn't It Blow Your Mind Vol. 18 (1995), where it runs even faster than Ten Best. Sounds great here - nice EQ, great dynamic range, no evidence of NR. The same analog transfer is used for:

• Time-Life's Solid Gold Soul Vol. 11 1976 (1996; differently-EQ'd digital clone)
• Time-Life's AM Gold Vol. 23 1976 (1996; mastered a little loud and clips a bit)
• Time-Life's Sounds Of The Seventies Vol. 44 '70s Dance Party 1975-1976 (1997; differently-EQ'd digital clone of AM Gold)
• Rhino's Behind Closed Doors '70s Swingers (1997; digitally exactly 1.4 dB quieter)

My recommendation for the 45 version: Rhino's Didn't It Blow Your Mind Vol. 18 (1995)
