The main difference is the varying levels of reverb in the mixes. For example, the stereo version has less reverb on the verse vocals and more reverb on the last "Carrie-Anne, Carrie-Anne" vocals compared with the 45 which has more reverb on the verse vocals and is much drier on the ending "Carrie-Anne" vocals.
