That said, we don't always say that "single version" means "hit version."  Those can be quite different, as you've pointed out in your examples.  There are a number of cases in the '90s where the official "single version" was not the "hit version."]]>

Ha ha. Thanks Aaron.  Feel free to merge the threads.<br /><br />Obviously, that rule is... imperfect at best.  As I said on another thread, using that logic will create... confusion.  If you follow that very narrow definition, then the Live Version of You Oughta Know is the single version, while either of the Todd Terry mixes of The Cardigans' "Lovefool" would be considered the single version.<br /><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by Loveland</span>]]>
