I read about that process somewhere else on the chat board. I think it involved an A&M release of a Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 album. Thanks to the wonder of digital editing and mixing, the process of Haeco-CSG,
can be removed from those old recordings. I tried to listen to a side by side of "Fool On The Hill," but didn't notice all the differences. That’s an excellent question. Is there a complex fold-down? Actually,
no, I don’t think so. Perhaps I got in the habit of calling it a “simple fold
down” instead of saying “simply a fold down” or “an easy-to-replicate
fold down.” I guess it’s redundant in any case. A fold down means
taking both channels of the stereo version and summing them together
with equal volume so that it becomes mono. As far as I can tell, pretty
much all fold-downs used for mono singles are an equal amount of the

I've never heard the LP Version, until tonight.

I picked out a "One Hit Wonders" disc to listen to and noted the extra talk at the beginning.

Speaking of the mono version, which might also be kicking around here somewhere, Is there a "Complex" fold-down? Usually, when I read about mono versions, folks frequently say "Simple Fold Down."
Is there a more complex method to creating a mono version? I'm guessing at this point, a simple fold-down is a 2 channel potted to center on both sides?

The stock 45 for "Troglodyte (Cave Man)" by Jimmy Castor Bunch is mono, has a printed time of 3:24, and runs an actual 3:23. The mono version on the 45 is a simple fold-down of the stereo mix found on CD. The 45 opens with "what we're gonna do right here is go back..."
