From what I understand many radio stations did in-house edits. When I reconstruct each years Hot 100, I try to be as accurate as possible to what was available. Two questions about this top 40 hit:

1) Does the 2:58 edit appear on any CD? Or is it exclusive to Primecuts?
2) Can the 3:43 version that is on the promos be edited to recreate the 2:58?

Was it common for Primecuts during this period to have versions that never appears on CD? In 2003 cd singles were still being issued quite frequently...
