Does anyone out there have this #42 charter on CD, digital download, or even clean vinyl so I can hear it?

I enjoyed his hit "Take A Little Rhythm" and I was wondering what the followup sounded like (it was not played in my market when it was worked).

Andy, I have a promo 45 for it. I still owe my patient friends Ed and Aaron one 45 dub each, so I'll now add yours, and "kill three birds with one stone" ASAP!

I've owned both of Thomson's original A&M albums on cassette for years now: "Take a Little Rhythm" (1980) and "Deception is an Art" (1981). I'm currently unaware of any domestic CDs that feature "Live Every Minute". (BTW, the song did hit #39 in "Cash Box", so it COULD be considered a top 40 hit, although apparently not by Pat's standards. Also, I find it amazing - and a shame - that "Take a Little Rhythm" has appeared on only ONE domestic CD to date, at least as of the 10th edition of Pat's book, anyway! Loved that song whenever it came on the radio when I was in my early teens, although like you, I don't believe I ever heard "Live Every Minute"...)

However, "Live Every Minute" DOES appear on one rare import CD, which I have: 1996's "A Collection of Songs" by Ali Thomson, from Germany (Beverly 871 017). Unfortunately, it's long out-of-print, and the label's official web site, www.beverly.de/beverly/, apparently no longer exists (I just checked.) The 15-track CD is a compilation of six songs from "TALR", five from "DIAA", plus four new tunes from '96 that Thomson specifically recorded for the collection, including an updated version of his 1980 hit, re-titled "Take a Little Rhythm (Rhythm '96)" (not quite as good as the original, IMO). The booklet even includes some nice liner notes from Thomson himself, so he was totally involved in the project. The 11 "TALR" and "DIAA" tracks are all the original recordings, and were digitally remastered for the collection. The original hit recording of "Take a Little Rhythm" runs 3:23 (listed 3:26), "Live Every Minute" clocks in at 3:37 (listed 3:45), and the minor hit from "DIAA" (which should've done better than just "bubble under" at #105 in "Billboard"), "Foolish Child", comes in at 3:50 (listed 3:54). "Live Every Minute" and "Foolish Child" are both bouncy, mid-tempo tunes in the same style as his biggest hit, so if you liked "TALR" and the so-called "west coast" sound that was popular in the late '70s/early '80s, then you'll definitely like the rest of Thomson's material... :-)

I VAGUELY remember playing "Live Every Minute" at an A/C station I worked at in 1980. But, we didn't play it very long.
