Hey all,
can anyone clarify for me how the LP version of School's Out differs from the 45 version, since they are both the same lengths? Thanks. |

Hi bud,
well, they are mixed quite differently, I do not know if the original 45 was mono, but the "stereo" mix of it is very narrow. They key thing is at the end - the LP runs down to a complete stop while the 45 does not (it fades without the slow down). Edited by davidclark |

This is the stuff I often come to the forum for. Thanks David! I have a collection of V/A discs from across the pond and noted the fade ending, opposed to the more well known, (To me), wind down ending. I assumed it was just a different manner of delivery to audiences out of the USA. Nice to know that this fade ending was the actual 45 version. If anyone is interested, it's called "Ones On 1." (BBC CD 693.) Lots of neat stuff on the 2 disc set. |

<Dave> Someone please tell I-Heart Radio that St. Louis is not known as The Loo!
