I don't think it's just your CD. The fade was truncated on mine as well, although I'm not as in tune with fades as I am with other facets of a typical 45.

some intersting notes

the 45 runs about 3:38 while the version i have on cd runs 3:20

the 45 label states the run time as 3:20

there is an import cd from canada titled "on the reocrd" which has a 3:40 version on it........this may be the true 45 version

this may be an instance where the 45 was originally mislabeled as 3:20 and cd versions subsequent to its issusance where edited/massaged to match the erroneous 45 run time

let me know what you think

Okay, I finally did a comparison of the original US 45 and original US album version and here's what I found:

The 45 lists a run time of 3:20 but actually runs 3:35. The beginning starts cold at full volume.

The album version lists a run time of 3:23 but actually runs 3:28. The album's first track segues into "You Could Have Been A Lady" and the beginning actually does fade-in to full volume. The song fades out early to a segue of the next song.

Just got a stock 45 in for this today. 45 is mono, listed time is 3:20, actual 3:34. Guitar at beginning, as has been noted, starts at full volume and not a fade in. Deadwax says BELL 1229 2372.
