the 45 runs slightly faster than three of the cd versions listed in the db.....the correct 45 speed version is on the "ultimate collection" cd and runs 4:08.....all the others are slower pitched and run between 4:13 and 4:16.........this should be noted in the db.........the 45 DOES NOT run 4:16 as whitburn and the db indicates.....it runs 4:08....

Ed:

I notice the database indicates that Billy Ocean's hit "The Colour of Love" runs 4:15 on his Ultimate Collection CD, yet clocks in between 4:21-4:24 on all other domestic CDs. Could you check your 45 copy of "The Colour of Love" and let us know how long it runs? I'm wondering if the 4:15 version found on the Ultimate Collection disc is reflective of a faster 45 speed as well.

Thanks!

my notes indicate that the 45 version of the song "the colour of love" runs 4:22 and is identical to the version from the "greatest hits" cd.....i have both cds and will review them a little later..........

Thanks, Ed. So does anyone know if the 4:15 length on the Ultimate Collection CD is an early fade, an edit, or a faster speed compared to the actual 45 and LP time?

How about putting "The Colour Of Love" discussion in a separate thread!

todd....your answer to the run time differential is that the "ultimate collection" cd fades out the full version 0:07 earlier...........that's it...
