I recently acquired the 12-inch single of "Strawberry Letter 23" by The Brothers Johnson, and confirmed that this is the 5:04 version that appears on A&M 2509. I haven't heard the 5:04 versions that appear on Time-Life R834-16 and Time-Life R794-11, but they're most likely also the 12-inch single version.

Also, "Next Plane to London" by The Rose Garden is in stereo on Eric 11509. The 10th edition list this song as being mono on this CD.

What's the difference between the 12" and the LP version (aside from the 12" being about seven seconds longer)?

I think I may have figured it out--if someone could confirm that'd be great. The keyboard riff that opens the 45 also opens the 12", but the bass hook afterwards has twice as many beats as the 45 or the LP (and select other passages are also doubled). The LP opens with a different keyboard passage, then it morphs back into the 45 opening keyboard riff (with a couple of passages doubled).

Confused? You won't be, after this episode of Soap.

Also, the 12" single is sped up.
I turn up the good and turn down the bad!
