Don't know if this has been covered, but the version of this song in the Cameo-Parkway box is an alternate take. Actually it sounds like an alternate vocal take. As far as I know, the only place to get the original 45 version is the group's original vinyl LP, which also happens to be in true stereo, although it's slower than the 45.

I agree Robert, the vocal track is an alternate take. Thanks for the heads up.

This comes as unfortunate news for anyone who wants the hit 45 version of "Let the Good Times Roll & Feel So Good" on a legitimate CD because it seems doubtful Cameo-Parkway is going to reissue the song on another compilation given the label's history of being stingy with releasing its catalog on CD.
Better hold on to those "Liberty Bell" bootleg discs, I guess. |

I just checked my Liberty Bell set and it is indeed the 45 version in stereo. Unfortunately, the fadeout reveals a lot of processing. Doesn't sound bad, though. Let's see... A 'grey-area" outfit gets it right and ABKCO gets it wrong... I guess maybe they needed a little more time. ;)

Plus the Liberty Bell set includes tracks that have not appeared on any of the ABKCO releases (like Bobby Rydell's "The Fish" and Chubby Checker's "Twenty Miles," "Lazy Elsie Molly" and "Let's Do The Freddie"). |

My commercial 45, confirmed as Parkway 153, has a listed time of (2:40), but an actual time of (2:48). My 45 is vinyl, with deadwax info of "P-153A".
