I just reviewed a cd release on the Razor & Tie label number 89121 titled "Slow Motion 2" which has a (4:02) edit of this song. This is not the commercial single version which runs (5:28) so it must be a dj edit. Does anyone have the dj cd single that can report back with the various running times found on that cd single?

The promo CD (Elektra 1217) has these tracks. No timings listed.

1. LP Version Clean - Edit (4:05)
2. LP Version Clean (5:28)

There was a second promo CD released, although I do not own a copy of the actual disc. My Promo Only subscription issued this second version, which runs (3:27) and starts with the chorus rather than an intro and Busta's first verse.

I seem to recall our station getting a copy of the actual promo CD, and I don't remember it having official looking artwork. I believe it had a generic sleeve and may have even been issued on a CD-R. In any case, this is the only version that our station played, although we played it from computer rather than CD.

I just searched online and found a copy of PRCD 1280, which is a 1-track promo CD. It is labeled as "Clean Version" with no time printed on the rear insert.

Just revisiting this song, and it should be noted, at the very least, that some promo copies run 3:27. I still haven't been able to get my hands on the actual disc, although I am 100% certain my old station received this on an official promo CD. Again, I'm pretty sure it was a rushed, reserviced CD-R, but this version definitely received a fair amount of airplay.

Aaron, to throw another fly into the ointment here, there was also a third promo CD single issued for this song. It is neither Eric's Elektra #1217, nor the Elektra #1280 your station aired. Mine is PRCD 1336-2, and includes just one track, the "David Anthony Remix". It has no listed time, but has an actual time of (4:22). I will shoot this version out to you for your further analysis. Also, my friend Tom has both of the other two promos. He and I are getting together in 10 days, and I'll ask him to bring both of those promos along, to help try and clear up this rather confusing case, once and for all.

Thanks, Jim! But to clarify, I'm not sure if the CD we played even had a catalog number. I just stumbled upon PRCD 1280 online. I don't think that's the one we played.

As an update, Jim sent over the "David Anthony Remix," which is nothing like the original version. This is a dance remix that I had never heard before.

Aaron, I have just acquired a copy of the PRCD 1280-2 promo CD single. The one included track is actually titled "Clean (Edit) Version", and has an actual time of (4:06). Let me know if you need to compare/contrast this version with the others...
