Promo 45 AS1-9619 (deadwax AS 1 9619 SA-1 on both sides) has a listed time of 3:58 and actual time of 4:22. It is Stereo both sides.

Interesting. Wonder if the 3:58 edit is reflective of
the stock 45 or is a 'neither."

Or, whatever the edit length was on Reflections
was. I don't have the file in my library anymore.

Based on Smokin' Tom's post, I'm not so sure a (3:58) edit exists. I'm almost positive the (4:22) version is the 45 version.

The UK 7" commercial single features the 4:22 edit (label
shows 4:20). It is misleading as there is no mention of
what version is included on the label and it reads "taken
from the album" instead of "original version from the
album". It seems 3:58 is just a misprinted time on the US
single and the 4:22 running is the true 45 version.

4:22 is the true 45 version. Ive noticed many label times for Carly Simon are inaccurate to the actual running times.
Favorite two expressions to live by on this board: "You can't download vinyl" and "Not everything is available on CD."

An off-topic comment to an off-topic thread :)

My exposure to "The Stuff That Dreams Are Made of" was constantly seeing the music video on VH-1 - it was an excerpt from her "Live at Martha's Vineyard" concert, which was
released commercially at the same time.

And when I bought the "Coming Around Again" CD especially for this song, I was surprised at how slow the studio-version of "Stuff That Dreams ..." was, compared to the live version I
was so used to. In fact, it was so much slower that I didn't even use it for my collection - I used the live version, probably taking it from my VHS tape. Though I really wished the studio
version was, to put it simply, as fast as the live version.

Well, decades later, we now have things like Izotope RX, so I took the studio version from CD and increased the BPM to be the BPM of the live version, without changing the pitch at all
(which would have made Carly sound like a chipmunk). So I now finally have what I was hoping I would find on that CD I bought back around '87! :)
