do you know if the remastered cd "kind of a hush" has the sped up 45 version.......the 45 runs 2:53 and is faster than the 3:02 version from "gold" as well as the version from "classics".......the remaster may have the correct sped up version.........anyone????

I don't have the 45 to compare, but do both versions end at the
same spot, or is there a different fade? In other words, can I just
speed up the LP version from 3:02 to 2:53 to get the 45 version?

as far as i can tell it's just a speed issue.........so i guess if you can manipulate the speed with a computer editing program, you'll have the 45.....

Wow...hacking nine seconds off a 3 minute song is going to be a major pitch increase! (5% to be exact) It might be worth checking the actual pitch of the 45 to be sure you've got it right, especially since a 5% increase is going to make Karen Carpenter sound like she's sucking on some helium.

Also, Gold has a slight re-mix. Richard Carpenter deleted some of the Synthesizer parts in the re-mix. The original mix is extant on vinyl or on The Singles 1974-1978 on import CD.
I turn up the good and turn down the bad!

upon further review...in addition to a pitch issue, there
is also a fade issue....the fade out point on the classics
cd is the 2:56 mark.....so the vinyl 45 is sped up by
0:04...if any one needs a perfect re-creation of the vinyl,
send me a pm...edtop40
