After messing around trying to recreate the Dynomite 45 version from the LP version, and carefully comparing it to the 45, I have concluded once and for all that the 45 cannot be recreated. The 45 is a must have.

10 years ago, I snagged a Japanese 5-CD "Best Of A&M Records" set. "Dynomite" was on there. My buddy gave the 45 re-creation a shot, using that CD as the source. Check your e-mail, and let me know your opinion.

I can't believe the correct 45 version of this top ten hit from '75 is still awol. Gonna have to hold on to a needle drop of my worn vinyl.

Your 45 is vinyl? The only copies I can locate in my area
are on styrene and usually very worn out.

Hunt down a DJ 45 for a vinyl pressing. Even though the title is listed as "Dynomite" on both the "short version" and "long version" sides of the promo 45, the 3:30/5:10 configurations are the same as on my commercial "Dynomite-Part I"/"Dynomite-Part II" styrene pressing.

Yah Shure,

Was out record hunting yesterday in Chattanooga. Went through several boxes of singles and found a NM commercial 45 of "Dynomite, Pt. 1". It's as graded and superb sounding. Apparently NOS (New Old Stock)

my commercial 45 issued as a&m 1666 states a run time of 3:30 but actually runs 3:27.....aaron, thanks for the edit you did a long while ago for me, it matches the vinyl 45 exactly.....this 45 run time s/b added to the db....

To edtop40:

How could Aaron create an edit, when the long version is missing a "yeah, baby" vocal shout-out overdub?

Did he dub in that one second from the vinyl?
