Pat's database correctly indicates the CDs which contain the 45 version and LP version, as there are two different mixes of the song "Your Baby Never Looked Good In Blue." The version on the promo CD single (ASCD-2010) runs an actual 3:59, while the album version runs 3:53.
There are numerous mix differences, but here are a few that stand out: - The tambourine hits during the first verse have echo on the single version but no echo on the LP version. - The drum hit at 0:27 echoes a few times on the single version, but there is only one drum beat on the LP version. - The drum fill leading into the first chorus is very prominent on the single version with lots of reverb, but it's low in the mix on the LP version and fairly dry. |

I listened to the Album Version and can definitely hear
what you're talking about, Aaron. When I listened to the Single Version before, I could have sworn I heard some echo somewhere. For the record, the version on the "Playlist" CD seems to fade out at 3:56-3:57, so although it's the same mix as the Single, it still runs a few seconds too short. The "Greatest Hits" CD seems to have the correct 3:59 length. |
