pat
is there any reason why there is no entry for 1992 for the song "bohemian rhapsody" by queen.......i guess you have a policy of NOT including songs if they are re-released and make the charts........but....please let us know...... |

In the hardcover books, Pat would usually make notation of a song being a hit in two different years and direct you to look at the earlier year for the listings. Exceptions would be remixes or rerecordings that caused a song to chart a second time (like Neil Sedaka reworking "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do," for example).

The comment that Doug made is correct. In the last printed edition of Top 40 Music On compact Disc that comment did appear that Bohemian Rhapsody was a hit in both 1976 and 1992 and somehow in the conversion over to the electronic database it disappeared but I have just re-entered the comment.

Anyone know if there was ever a CD promo release for the song or was the cassette/7" the only reason it charted? I noticed the UK had a single release of it in 1991.

Favorite two expressions to live by on this board: "You can't download vinyl" and "Not everything is available on CD."

There definitely is a 1991 promo CD. The catalog number is PRCD- 10145-2. Edited by aaronk |
