all versions of "Green River" in the database are listed as "LP Mix"... i found a copy of the 45 which, unfortunately, is in really rough shape and i was unable to discern any difference from the LP version... can anybody shed some light on this topic???

Maybe that needs a different notation. The main difference between the single and the album version of Green River is that the single actually ends cold. If you crank the song up all the way up at the end you can hear the cold ending. That is not the case on the LP. I suppose you could make the usual notation of 45 length or LP length, or LP fade to note that it is different than the original hit single. Or, Pat could just make a notation on the heading of the song that the original 45 fades down to a cold ending while the LP version fades slighly earlier.

thanks, bill, and yes, there is a cold ending to the 45, although when i cranked up the volume towards the end i mostly heard lots of crackles... this kind of reminded me of the drum roll at the end of "eight miles high" 45 where it is barely audible... the question is, why bother??? or engineering mistake???
