does anyone know if the billboard charts where ever adjusted to show that a 12 inch single was released in the usa for this song....i've never been able to find a usa promo cd single for this song but i did find a scan of the 12" release....paul haney any insight???

Ed, the Hot 100 always showed "album cut" (all 20 weeks on chart). If there ever was a commercial single release, I'm not aware of it.

Ed sent me a scan of the 12" vinyl single and it does appear to be a legit release on Blackground 000241...this number fits into the label number pattern. For the past few years there have been some very limited 12" vinyl pressings that our distributor for some reason never stocked and it looks like this is one of them. If anyone else finds a situation like this feel free to e-mail me a scan to paul@recordresearch.com and I'll add the information to our database.

that's what i wanted to check on....for future books under your jurisdiction, it will say that a 12" single was available.....that's all....btw...i have owned the top pop singles books in the past and have the yearbooks up to two years ago...
