Pat:
Regarding Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time", the database states the comment: (actual 45 time is (4:07) not (3:58) as stated on the record label). It might also be useful to add that the 45 is an early fade of the LP length, which is 4:13. This way, database subscribers can better determine which CDs contain the 45 and LP length. I noticed that the Everything '80s CD contains the comment "missing the opening notes" for "Party All The Time." I just pulled out my CD, and I'm not sure what this is referring to. Is it something missing from the mix, or is it an indication that something was chopped off? My CD doesn't have a chopped intro, as far as I can tell.

Don't know what I heard when I entered the "missing the opening notes" comment but they really are all present on that "Everything 80's" disc.

Razor & Tie's 2-CD Everything '80s (1995) sounds just fine; it's Time-Life's Sounds Of The Eighties - 1985-1986 (1995) that's missing some opening drumbeats.
The 45 begins on a downbeat. If we label the beats as 1-and-2-and-3-and-4-and, with the downbeat being "1", then Sounds Of The Eighties comes in at 1-and-2-AND-3-and-4-and. I'm sure there's easier notation for all this... |

That notation is pretty clear to me! I seem to remember my 45 starting the same way - in the middle of a measure - but maybe I've been listening to the Sounds Of The Eighties too long. I'll have to dig out my copy. |

I pulled my 45, and it turns out I was wrong above. My 45, like Ron's, starts on the downbeat. |
