Pat, last summer I started a new topic, regarding the database entry "I Stand Accused", by Isaac Hayes. This song only got to #42 in BB in 1970, but I had long ago decided to also try to obtain the 45 versions of the relatively few songs in this "overlap" category, A year or two ago, I scoured/documented your entire db, to locate all of the songs in this "same boat". I thought that once I had it all done, it would never change. However, upon browsing the database today, I see that "I Stand Accused" is no longer in your database at all! I am very surprised by this. Do you do this type of thing often? (meaning delete, or possibly insert, obviously non-current songs, with some as old as from 39 years ago.) Why? Personally, I feel that the more songs that are included in the database, the better, because it means more documented info for subscribers to access. Can you please shed some light on why you did this? Thanks.

On rare occasions I do add or delete songs from the database when evidence is presented to me that national chart averages either do or do not support a song being in the database. Although I do not recall the exact circumstances for me dropping this song, it was one of those that was definitely borderline for being included in the first place because as you pointed out it hit only #42 on the Billboard charts.
