my commercial cassingle issued as reprise 19743 states the version as "remix" with a listed run time of 4:17 and does indeed run that length....this cassingle info should be added to the db.....

The radio promo CD (Reprise 4337) has two tracks:

1. Remix 4:17
2. Album Version 4:18

I only have the 45, which matches edtop40's cassingle in both time (4:17) and title ("remix"). The 45 states "Remixed by Chris Lord-Alge and Jeff Lord-Alge."

I don't have the the parent album A View from 3rd Street, and I'm curious what the difference(s) between the two versions is/are. The videos posted on YouTube seem to all match my 45 ("remix"). There does seem to be an EQ difference, but with YouTube compression that's hard to tell definitively. Sweetened for radio? Perhaps the remix is subtle and maybe I should just let it go.

To Plastic Steel:

I own the promo CD you mention; the differences include somewhat louder synthesized 'ahh' vocals in the intro of the remix as well as slap-back echo on the lead vocal. The album version's lead vox is pretty dry.
