I only have a promo 45 for this song, which is confirmed as King 6056, and is vinyl. And, although neither one is correct, both sides have a listed time of (3:28). The shorter side of my promo has a white label, deadwax info of "K-45-12213", and an actual run time of (3:42). Although I don't own a commercial 45 for this song yet, I suspect that it is the same as this side of my promo is. Can anyone confirm this for me? The other, longer side of my promo 45 has a yellow label, and deadwax info of "K-12213   A". Just above the title on this side, inside a jagged rectangular box, it says "(A short personal message by James Brown"). This short, spoken message by JB at the start runs :25 seconds, and is immediately followed by the song itself. If I just added :25 to the (3:42) song length found on the other side, the total song length would then come to (4:07), which was my "expected, actual time". But instead, the actual time for this longer promo 45 side is longer still, at (4:13). So, for some reason, JB chose to also include :06 extra seconds of "song" to the side of his promo 45 that included his message. The Hip-O Select Singles Volume CD including this song runs (3:43), so that timing matches up with the shorter side of my promo 45. But the only current database CD featuring the "complete" version of the song (Star Time), runs (4:31). This is :18 longer than the long side of my promo 45 is, so anyone desiring to own the correct DJ 45 long version on CD has some editing work ahead.

Pat, just FYI, I have recently acquired a commercial 45 for this song. And as I had thought in my earlier post, it does indeed feature the exact same, listed (3:28)/actual (3:42) version that is also on the shorter side of my promo 45.
