my commercial 45 for the carly simon & james taylor song "mockingbird" states the run time on the label as 3:45 and does indeed run that length....if you fade out the 3:48 version a few seconds early you'll effectively re-create the proper 3:45 length 45 version...

In reviewing my Quadradisc LP's, I found this interesting. The Quad version of 'Hotcakes' mixed down to Stereo has vocals by James Taylor in the
left channel, Carly Simon in the right. I know, a lot of purists would not care for that kind of seperation. I like it that way. Another thing that
jumps out is the fact that it clocks in at 4:24! -Bill.

Is it just a longer fadeout (or does it end cold?)?

At the point where it should start the normal fade, it doesn't. The saxophone solo keeps
going, and then fades. It kind of reminds me of that Sergio Mendes single that is longer than
the L.P.. -Bill.

Another observation. A lot of these quadradisc LP's had horrible pressings when you compared them with
the stereo counterpart. I don't know if that is the nature of the beast, but it showed up especially on
'Best of Bread'. -Bill.
