My 45 runs 4:18, and runs 98.0 BPM throughout.

The LP version on the '80s-era CD of Dancing On The Ceiling runs 5:41, and also runs 98.0 BPM throughout.

In the very strictest sense, the 45 can't be recreated from the LP version because a tiny portion of the LP's introduction can still be heard over the first few drumbeats. This intro is completely mixed out of the true 45. The effect really isn't all that noticeable, much like in the Thompson Twins' "Lay Your Hands On Me".

If you can live with that tiny amount of LP intro mixed over the drum intro, here are the editing instructions for creating the 45 edit from the LP version on Dancing On The Ceiling:

Remove the sung intro from 0:00.0 to 0:38.4 of LP version.
Start at the very first drum beat at 0:38.4.
Keep the 140 beats from 0:38.4 to 2:04.0 of LP version.
Edit on downbeat at beginning of word "Here" in chorus.
Remove the 32 beats from 2:04.0 to 2:23.6 of LP version.
Keep the 115 beats from 2:33.6 to 3:34.0 of LP version.
Edit on snare that has a slight "hey" afterwards.
Remove the 32 beats from 3:34.0 to 3:53.6 of LP version.
Keep the 158 beats from 3:53.6 to 5:30.4 of LP version.
The 5:30.4 point is well within the existing fade; the 45 fades earlier than the LP version.
Fade out the last 8 beats to bring level to zero.

Your mixdown will run 4:17.0 with edits at 1:25.7 and 2:36.1.

Reiterating that my instructions will leave a tiny amount of the deleted intro over the first few drumbeats of the song.
