Wow. Here's one that surprised me. All copies I have of "I Believe In You And Me" are lossy. Don't know that it's necessarily mp3, but there is no audio data above about 15kHz. I checked two different promo compilations (don't own the original promo single) and the Greatest Hits album.
Speaking of the promo CD, it appears there are two versions (listed times only): 1. Record Version (3:51) 2. Film Version (4:00) Pat does not note anything next to the song in the database, but does the Preacher's Wife OST have the "Film Version" by chance? The database says it runs 3:59 as opposed to the 3:51 time on Greatest Hits. Edited by aaronk |

Bizarre. My commercial CD single has the 15hz cutoff, too. MP3 was certainly around at the time, as was MiniDisc. I'd like to have a look at the song on the soundtrack, but I don't own it.

I have the The Preacher's Wife soundtrack CD and unfortunately
both versions of Whitney Houston's "I Believe in You and Me" have the frequencies cut off above 15 kHz. By the way, Brian, could you please pass along the song's run time info on your commercial CD single copy whenever you have a chance? Edited by Todd Ireland |

Todd, I believe you meant to say The Preacher's Wife soundtrack. BTW, the other Whitney Houston movie is Waiting To Exhale...I think Waiting To Inhale was the Bill Clinton story:) |

Haha! I typed that post right before I went to sleep last night and it
clearly shows how tired I was. I've gone back and fixed it so no more "waiting to inhale"! Thanks. |

Actual run time for the "Record Version" from the U.S. CD single, the one in the card sleeve, is 3:51. |

Thanks, Brian! The database currently shows promo single info for "I Believe in You and Me", so I figured adding the commercial single info would be useful for database subscribers as well.

I've yet to find a CD containing a better version of this nearly 20 year old single!
Even the recent I Will Always Love You best of uses the lossy source. |

I'm afraid along with Step by Step the album and single version there is no lossless sourced version of the song....
