Jim has informed me that his mono commercial 45 copy of Jefferson's "Take Me in Your Arms" has an actual and printed run time of 2:43. I'm posting this because the two mono database CD entries to date run several seconds shorter at 2:40 and the two stereo CD appearances only run 2:36.

Does anyone know what the stereo 45 actually runs? 2:36? 2:43?

Gordon, to my knowledge, there was never a U.S. stereo 45 release for this
song in 1970. Both my commercial and my promo 45s are in mono (and my promo 45 does say "Promotion Copy - Not For Sale" on it. During 1970, Janus stock 45s were issued with both brown and white labels, with many dealers wrongly assuming the white label stock copies are promos.) The flip side of my promo 45 is the same song that appears on the stock 45's flip, "I Fell Flat On My Face." |
